The 2012 Raptor Ride
Saturday, July 14
The Raptor Ride is a well supported bicycle ride starting and finishing at Brandon Hills Vineyard in Yadkinville, NC. Choose from 20, 40 or 60 mile routes through the moderately hilly wine country of the Yadkin Valley.
Registration is limited to 250 riders.
The ride begins with a release of a rehabilitated bird of prey from the
Carolina Raptor Center. The Carolina Raptor Center is dedicated to
environmental stewardship and the conservation of birds of prey, through education, research, and the rehabilitation of injured and orphan raptors (www.carolinaraptorcenter.org). All the proceeds of the ride will benefit The Carolina Raptor Center.
Stocked rest stops will be at intervals along the routes as well as SAG
support vehicles to help any rider having difficulty completing the ride.
When you finish, riders 21 and older with proof of age may enjoy a
complementary wine tasting at Brandon Hills Vineyard. Lincrest Farms is providing a locally produced Angus hamburger for each rider and enjoy live music.
This is our third year, we had 180 riders last year and are limiting the field to 250 and expect a sell out.
