Welcome to the original Freewheelers' Assault on Mt. Mitchell® Assault on MarionTM Training Series for 2008 (all training rides are free including food served at the university at the end of April 12 and April 26th rides and in the parking lot at the end of the May 10th and May 24th rides) The cumulative climbs start at about 5,000 ft for the first ride and progress to about 8,000 ft. It is wise to do them in order, not missing one if possible. All rides will have their start/finish at North Greenville University, Tigerville, South Carolina SEE MAP BELOW RIGHT TO LOCATE PARKING LOT FOR THIS SERIES.

These training rides are designed to train riders for Mitchell and all have climbing. They are non-competitive and riders can go at their own pace. All routes are designed so they can be cut short if the rider wants. CAUTION should be used when descending Howard Gap Rd. (It is very steep and tires have blown from overheating rims from brakes.)
