Freewheelers’ Meeting: August 2, 2004

Topic: “Training with Power” by using power meters
*Nutrition—key aspect—eat balanced diet, use sports drink with carbohydrates to replace electrolytes

New members welcomed: Michelle Gilman from Campobello, Larry Christopher (old member, renewing membership),
Mark Blackman (member of Freewheelers for 12 years, 1st meeting attended)

PCC notes were read by Jeff Cook since Paul LeFrancois could not attend the meeting.
*PCC donated 20 helmets to the Spartanburg high school girls’ soccer team. The team is beginning to incorporate cycling into their cross training program.

*PCC is sponsor for the MS 150 Break Away on September 18-19.

*PCC is selling custom DeFeet socks that will be available in September.

*Re-order of PCC SS and LS jerseys from Hincapie sports.

*PCC benefit ride in Charleston has been renamed to Festa-velo and will be held the weekend of December 4 & 5.

Next meeting will be held September 13th at Fuddruckers.
