FREEWHEELERS MINUTES
Marly opened the meeting at 7:15 PM. Meeting minutes from last
month was approved.
Jeff Cook-gave an update on the Bike Club discounts from
Bike On. You will only get a 10% discount with cash or check.
If you use a credit card the discount will not apply. No changes
in discounts from the other Bike Stores. He also has Freewheelers
Hats if you have one contact him for pick up.
Jim Brown - Gave an updated Treasure's report. At this time there
are no outstanding bills.
Greg Kyzer - Absent
Shawn Howland - Absent
Andrew Danfy - Reported on Bike Town Events. Noted some streets
would be closing at 12 noon. First race will be at 5 PM. They
will continue throughout the evening with the Pro starts set for
8 PM
Richard Dillard - Commented on what a great PR Bike Town has been.
Also Greenville will be hosting the Pro Championships. The Ride
of Silence will be ay 17th at 6 PM.
Rick Darwin - Asked that anyone wanting to send in articles to
please do so by May 14th deadline.
Paul LeFrancois - Need riders for the May 12th ride. An e-mail
will be sent with more information. It will be a short 2-3 mile
ride. Mayor will be signing proclamation for Spartanburg being
a Bike Town. There are currently 4 major cities promoting Bike
to Work.
Ken Drescher - absent
Steve Yetman - Absent
John gave an update on Mt. Mitchell. Packet stuffing will be May
15th 5-10PM. It will be at Skylyn United Methodist Church -Drayton,
next to Houston elementary. There will be an e-mail sent with
directions later. The Ride on Marion is up to 300 - also noted
that walk-ins on Friday will not be guaranteed a T-shirt. The
Park Way is now open. Registration on Friday will begin at 2PM.
Marly also noted that nominations for officers will be open until
May 20th. The list will then be sent via e-mail so everyone will
see ballot for June Meeting and elections.

Richard Dillard also reported touring the Glendale community for
a study to turn the church/buildings into an athletic complex.
More details to follow. It was also discussed about changing the
meeting place due to noise/interuptions. There were numerous e-mail
complaints. Next meeting will be determined. It was suggested
to try Bronco's on Reidville Road. Details for the place in June
to follow up by e-mail after Patti can get confirmation.
