Bike Shipping

If you wish to ship your bike to SC you can send it directly to the "Great Escape" and they will put it together for you for just $25!
To all Assaults participants they offer a 10% discount as well. The biggest and the best – they offer a hotel shuttle so if you need to get to the bike shop for your last minute needs, they will come and pick you up! Brooke and Tyler at Great Escape will do just about anything to show their southern hospitality.

Bus Tickets

Many people did not purchase bus tickets with their registration and are not able to go back into Active to change this. If you are one of those people please do the following 2 simple steps.

• E-mail assaultdirector@freewheelers.info with your name and number of bus tickets you would like to purchase You will receive a confirmation e-mail with an address where to send your check.

There will be some additional bus tickets available the day before the ride BUT they will be on a first come, first serve basis so in order to make sure you have a ride back to Spartanburg from Marion your best bet is to reserve early.

There are 3 types of bus tickets that may be purchased:

• SUNDAY bus ticket $35 – If you would like to leave your car at Tom Johnson’s Campground overnight on Sunday, the  campground will be open from 1pm to 6pm. There will be a parking attendent on duty to collect the $5 fee.  We will have a bus that will take you back to the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. The bus will pick passengers up at 4:00 PM SHARP. This is a passenger only bus which means we can’t accommodate any bikes. Bikes must be dropped off in Spartanburg BEFORE you go to Marion. NO EXCEPTIONS.
• MONDAY bus ticket $45 – This bus ticket is from Marion (Tom Johnson’s Campground) all the way back to Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Your bus ticket from the top of Mt. Mitchell to Marion is included in your entry fee. Riders doing the Assault on Mt. Mitchell or the Assault on Marion can purchase this ticket to get back to Spartanburg.
• SPECTATOR BUS TICKETS $10 (cash or check only) – This bus ticket will take spectators from Marion (Tom Johnson’s Campground) all the way to the finish line at the top of Mt. Mitchell and then back to the campground. Note: That the ride up to Mt. Mitchell will take 1 hour 40 min. so plan accordingly if you are trying to meet someone at the finish line. Buses will leave starting at 10 AM or possibly even earlier if there is a demand.
